A highly experienced Barrister, with a nationwide reputation in sports law, complimenting a civil and commercial practice. Extensive experience of chairing regulatory tribunals in a range of sports, including football, boxing, rowing, swimming and taekwondo. These have included some of the highest profile football cases in recent years, across a wide range of areas, from third party player ownership, race/ethnicity, and on-field incidents, to match-fixing and betting. Substantial experience in advising individuals, clubs and governing bodies in a broad spectrum of issues. Author of one of the first specialist academic books on sports law, together with numerous articles on sports-related legal issues.

He has extensive experience in matters relating to partnership disputes, money laundering, mercantile agents, transfer of title to goods, professional negligence, as well as the myriad legal issues that arise out of general contractual claims for the recovery of goods and money. The author of ‘Sports Law and Litigation’ (EMIS Publishing, 2nd Edn. 2000), he has advised individuals and governing bodies on such diverse matters as the implications of the Tour de France doping scandal for the organisers of the premier professional cycling event in Great Britain, sponsorship agreements for professional rugby players, and insurance provision for extreme sports. He has sat as a member of a Football Association Appeal Board.
