Parklane Plowden Chambers confirms sponsorship of the ALARM National Conference 2018.
The ALARM Conference is the leading learning and development event for risk professionals and those who deal with the management of risk within organisations who provide services to, or support our communities and citizens.
Chambers has supported this conference now for several years. At the 2017 Conference, Barrister Corin Furness, spoke on ‘A barrister’s perspective on fraud’ and discussed ways of preventing fraud, pleading fraud and alternative defences, as well as S57 QOCS, costs and committal.
Barristers, Alex Foster and Catherine Souter also presented – ‘Trials and Tribulations – trial preparation and conduct’. Their session offered practical hints, tips and advice for solicitors, in-house claims handlers and insurance practitioners in preparing for trial on a range of topics including: Mills v Barnsley – happy 25th birthday!, Post Enterprise Act actions in employer liability claims and fundamental dishonesty fraud. The session provided an understanding of some of the more technical aspects to consider when preparing cases for trial.
